Why these two

The witch hat is tall and braided, and it actually holds its point. It's worked in one piece from the top down with no seams to sew, and the last round goes over memory wire or drip tubing, so you can bend the brim into any shape you like and reshape it whenever you want. Keep it classic black for trick or treating, or style it with twine, moss and mushrooms. The pattern includes a decorating guide for that look.

The wine glass cover slips over the bowl of your glass and keeps your hand off it, so your wine stays cold longer and the condensation doesn't run down the stem. Make a few in different colors and nobody at the party has to wonder whose glass is whose. It only takes about 40 to 55 yards, so it's a great way to use up your worsted leftovers.

A crochet wine glass cover for any size glass

Wine glasses come in every shape, so this cover isn't locked to one. The pattern comes in 4 sizes, and it also walks you through how to size it for any wine glass you own, whether that's a small white wine glass or a big balloon red. The cover is worked flat in rows, side to side, so the number of rows sets how far around it goes and the height stays the same. Measure around the widest part of your glass bowl, follow the steps in the pattern, and you'll get a snug fit on the glasses you actually drink from.
