The cover is worked flat, side to side, in rows using my signature Wheat Stitch™. The rows build the circumference and the 16 stitches set the height, so every size is the same 4" tall. A slip stitch column runs along one edge and becomes the bottom of the cover, and eyelets built into the top edge give you a spot to weave twine for a little bow.

One master body is worked the same way every time, then seamed and finished with a single trim round. The pattern includes a pumpkin version (Clay body, Leaf trim, and a crochet leaf) and a snowman version (White body, Sparkle Red trim, and three black buttons). The pumpkin and snowman are just two ideas to get you started. You can make yours in any colors you want, so it works for any holiday or occasion, whether you're matching your home decor, a party theme, or your favorite football team.

Sizes

• Size 1: 8" circumference, 4" tall
• Size 2: 9.33" circumference, 4" tall
• Size 3: 10.67" circumference, 4" tall
• Size 4: 12" circumference, 4" tall

To choose your size, measure around the widest part of your glass bowl and pick the size closest to 1/2" smaller, since the cover stretches to fit.

Supplies

• Yarn: Herrschners Worsted 8, #4 Worsted Weight, 100% Acrylic, 489yds/226g
• Yardage (both colors combined): about 40 yds (Size 1), 45 yds (Size 2), 50 yds (Size 3), 55 yds (Size 4)
• Yarn substitutions: Brava Worsted, Mary Maxim Maximum Value, or Lion Brand Pound of Love
• Hook: 4.5mm, or size to obtain gauge
• Notions: scissors, tapestry needle, twine for the bow
• Snowman version: three 5/8" black buttons

Gauge

16 sts and 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) over the stitch pattern, unblocked.

Skill Level

Intermediate. You'll work back-loop-only stitches and puff stitches in an easy 4-row repeat, and the video tutorial walks you through it.
