The Wheat Stitch Witch Hat is worked in one piece from the point down, with no seams to sew. The braided texture comes from the Wheat Stitch, a simple repeat of back loop single crochet and puff stitch rounds, worked on a smaller hook than the yarn calls for so the cone stands up tall on its own.
The final round is crocheted over memory wire or drip tubing, so you can bend the brim into any shape you like and reshape it whenever you want. Style it with twine, moss, and mushrooms like the samples, or keep it classic black for trick or treating.
