Wheat Stitch Crochet Acorns. Made in one piece, stem and all, so there is nothing to sew and nothing to assemble.

You start at the very tip of the stem inside a magic ring and work down, and the cap opens out from there. At the widest point of the cap you work one round into one set of loops only, then go back and work into the loops you left behind. The loops you worked into first become the flared brim of the cap, and the nut grows out from underneath. After that you stop joining, work in a spiral, stuff as you go, and close up the bottom.

The cap texture is the Wheat Stitch, a skipped stitch, a single crochet, then a puff worked back into the stitch you skipped so it leans over like a grain of wheat. It is written out in full every time it appears, so there is nothing extra to memorize.

Three sizes and six full colorways are included, so you can build a bowl that looks styled rather than scattered.

📐 Skill Level:
Advanced Beginner. If you can work in the round, single crochet, and keep a stitch count, you can make these. The puff stitch and the split loop round are both shown in the video.

📊 Construction:
The whole acorn is one piece worked from the stem tip down. One round is worked into a single set of loops, then you return to the loops left behind, which creates the flared cap brim and lets the nut grow out from underneath with no seam.
