Wheat Stitch Reindeer Crochet Pattern

Most crochet reindeer are smooth single crochet. This one is worked entirely in the Wheat Stitch, so he has real, wheaty texture the second you pick him up.

He comes together with far less sewing than you would expect. You will make the antlers and snout first, then start the head and attach them as you go, embroider the little V dots on his face, and carry straight on into the body. A braided scarf at the end takes about five minutes and pulls the whole look together.

He works up in cozy worsted acrylic on a G hook, and he earns his shelf space well past December.
