Reed Crochet Bookmark

The Reed Crossover Stitch gives the surface a woven, basket-like crosshatch that reads as intricate even though it's just a two row repeat under the hood. Pick it up, find the rhythm, and you'll have a finished bookmark before your tea goes cold.

It's a tiny project with a big yield. Each bookmark drinks up only 18 yards of fingering weight cotton (22 with the tassel), so a single skein turns into a whole stack of them. That makes this your go to for using up cotton scraps, whipping up a last minute gift, or batching a pile in seasonal shades when the holidays sneak up on you.

Pattern Features

  • Reed Crossover Stitch creates a woven, reversible crosshatch texture
  • One size, fully adjustable in length and width
  • Optional tassel instructions included
  • Works up in under an hour with fingering weight cotton
  • Includes a step by step video tutorial

📏 Sizing
One size, 7 inches by 1.5 inches. Fully adjustable, so add or remove rows to make it longer, shorter, wider, or narrower.

🧵 Materials

  • Yarn: Willow Yarns Farmhouse Cotton, 100% Cotton, 360yds/100g, 18 yards per bookmark (22 yds with tassel)
  • Hook: 3.0mm (C/2.75mm or D/3.25mm also work, gauge is not critical here)

Easy. If you know your basic stitches, you're ready. The Reed Crossover Stitch is walked through in full, and the video tutorial has your back if you'd rather watch than read.
