The single crochet stitches for these mittens are worked in the center ‘V’ of each stitch, which results in the split single crochet (ssc) or waistcoat stitch. It helps the colorwork in crochet line up a little bit better. These mittens are worked in the round continuously to avoid an unsightly seam.
